Enoch Pratt Free Library cuts hours, Sunday service at some branches - Baltimore Business Journal:

The move is part of a $2 millionj cut made to the library’s budget as part of Mayor Sheila Dixon’s strategy to closee a $65 million budget deficit the city face infiscal 2010. The Centrap Library downtown will close at7 p.m. Monday througyh Wednesday, an hour earlier than its currenf schedule. On Thursdays, the librarg will close a half-hour earlier at 5 p.m. In Friday hours at the system’ds Hamilton, Herring Run and Light Street branchess havebeen eliminated. The Southeast Anchor Library will no longet offer Sunday hours in the falland winter. The Enoch’d Night Owl Service, a weeknight phone reference service, will also be cut July 1.
The system’s fiscal 2010 budget is arounde $41.5 million, $2 million less than 2009, spokesmamn Roswell Encina said. “We’re hopinh this won’t be permanent, but you never know,” he said Tuesday.
