Fred Weber wins $4M Mississippi River Bridge contract - Memphis Business Journal:

awarded Fred Weber a $4.44 million contract Wednesdat to remove and replace the Madison Streetand St. Louis Avenuw bridges over Interstate 70 indowntown St. The majority of work on this projecr will start afterHighway 40/Interstatd 64 reopens between Kingshighway and Interstate 170. Crews will remove the St. Louis Avenue bridger first and then remove and replacse the MadisonStreet bridge. During work to removw the MadisonStreet bridge, crews will also remove the Cass Avenu bridge in preparation for replacing that bridge later in 2010. This work is part of preliminary work on a new Mississippjiriver bridge, which is expected to reducde congestion on the Poplar Street Bridge.

The commercial construction firm is also working onthe $245 millionh reconstruction of AmerenUE’s Taum Sauk Reservoitr in Johnson’s Shut-Ins statse park and is part of Gateway the consortium of contractors performing $535 millionj worth of improvements on Highway 40/Interstate 64.
